Let me be clear
I don’t think that people
use “that voice” on purpose
or with bad intentions.
But…
I hate “that voice”
That “cooing, sometimes-loud, little kid voice”
Meant to make me feel better.
Stop it with “that voice.”
Talk to me
Not at me or through me.
Talk to me and not the person I’m with
Unless you have something to say to them – not about me.
I am a grown woman.
I might look younger than I am.
Talk to me like an adult
And I will try to do the same for you.
