The gift of friendship

Only a few people have ever taken the time to really get to know me. 

They are so precious to me. I can’t imagine my life without them. 

Such a blessing to love and be loved completely.  Wherever I go, I take them in my heart .

Thoughts

Today all I can think about is how happy I am to be alive and to be surrounded by people who love me.  I know that people look at me and feel terrible for me but I consider my life to be extraordinary. Hard to imagine my life any differently. Of course I wish that I didn’t have any pain or people staring every time I scream out. But, people who really know me understand how much I love my life.
I wish that for you.  That you love your life too. 💚

Summer 2018

I look out my window at the world and can't believe another summer has come and gone.
This was the best summer that I can remember:

We spent so much time in the pool
We were surrounded by people we love
We spent so many suppers eating under the stars

And

We celebrated LOVE💕 with a family wedding!!


I only wish it could always be this way - I love it when we are all together in one place - with my family and friends who are just like family.

I hope everyone had their best summer too!!

Understood

Anyone who knows me
Knows how hard it is for me to communicate.
It takes so much energy
For me to try to express myself.

Many people have tried to talk with me using my letter boards
Only a few have been successful.
STRONG & PATIENT are how I would describe
My family and friends for being determined to help me speak.
I only know that God put them in my life to love me and for me to love in return.

And look at how many people have read my words via this blog - more than 4,700 hits - it feels like a blessing to have my voice heard!

Not So Fun

When everything is hard to deal with, Love is the only thing that matters.

Sometimes I have to believe that all the stares from strangers are coming from a place of curiosity rather than fear or judgment.
But, sometimes I see judgment reflected back at me.
In those times, I wish I could explain that I'm okay, that I am loved and even when I am in visible distress, I can still see the looks of fear - it certainly doesn't help.

God knows that I don't enjoy being loud and letting the screams out in public.
It's not fun for me either.

To Be Honest

The possibility to demand truth is not a very easy thing.
Very few people are capable of full honesty.
To me, being honest means risking - that can be scary.
Some truths are harder to express than others.
Kids are great at being truth tellers.  I'm not as good.
I'm always scared that I will unintentionally upset someone.
I wish truth was universally accepted as fact. Not be scared to share the truth.
I want to live in a world where sane people actually tell the whole truth-not half truths.
We leave out truth when we only share a portion of it.

The truth is : I love my life
                      I love my family
                      I love my friends

I long for a world where we can all live honestly  


So, to be honest, I love that people read what I have to say, even if I get nervous when I share my thoughts.
